Head Men’s Soccer Coach
Dale Parker enters his first season as Head Men’s Soccer Coach at Winthrop University bringing over 15 years of experience across NCAA, professional, and elite youth soccer. Parker is widely regarded for his ability to build competitive programs, develop high-performing student-athletes, and sustain success both on the field and in the classroom. His background spans NCAA Division I and II coaching, semi-professional leadership in the NPSL, and extensive involvement in U.S. Soccer’s top development pathways.
Prior to Winthrop, Parker served as Head Men’s Soccer Coach at Lander University, where he guided the Bearcats to multiple Peach Belt Conference championship appearances while producing All-Americans, All-Region and All-Conference selections. His teams consistently excelled academically, earning three United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Awards and ranking among the top programs nationally for academic performance. Parker also previously led Lincoln Memorial University to a 400% increase in wins and the program’s first conference tournament final appearance in six years.
In addition to his collegiate success, Parker was the Head Coach of Appalachian FC in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) from 2021-2025, where he led the club to multiple Southeast Conference titles, a National Quarterfinal appearance, and a top-four national ranking. He was named NPSL National Coach of the Year in 2022. His professional experience has strengthened his player identification, staff leadership, and high-performance training methodologies.
A USSF A Licensed coach, Parker is highly trained in modern football periodization and tactical development, with advanced education through the World Football Academy and professional clubs across England and Wales. Known for his strong recruiting networks throughout the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic, and internationally, Parker brings a holistic, player-centered approach focused on competitive excellence, academic achievement, and community engagement. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Lees-McRae College and is completing his master’s degree at Lander University.
